Listen up new moms…

IMG_7931.JPGIf you don’t know what this is, then you’re not a mom! Well not yet at least, Lol This is the 1 maybe 2 minutes that you get to go pee and you think you’re alone, I’m sorry to break it to you new moms, you’re not! You’ll never be alone again for years to come!

IMG_7932.JPG

There will always be these eyes on the other side of the door, waiting… most of the time impatiently waiting to say mommy, mom, momma, I’ve been waiting for like ever for you. Shouting through the door when you’re just trying to get a 2 minute pee break, you may even be hiding in there at this point.. we all do it, don’t feel bad, what do you think bath time for mom is? IMG_7933.JPGIt’s our time to just relax right? To lay in quiet, not doing anything for anyone? HA! We wish! It usually looks a lot more like this IMG_7934little one on the other side just waiting or trying to break in on you, oh you can’t hear them, no problem.. here comes the mail under the door lol welcome to motherhood, I wish I could tell you it gets better, but it don’t. Enjoy a pee break or bath while they’re at school. That’s your only hope lol

(I’m not a professional writer, grammar professional or intelligent human by any means- don’t judge me) my blogs are written real and usually with at least one child screaming for my attention. Stop judging people lol

Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 Scentsy Incentive Trip 2017

Rome wasn’t the warmest weather yet, but Scentsy sure knew how to keep our minds off the weather & sun shining from within us. We were treated like VIP, from the meals, to the gifts, to the excursions, it was absolutely AMAZING! We learned how to make pasta from scratch and had many laughs along the way.

We visited the Vatican & learned all about the art work & history, it was truly breathtaking. We knew when the trip incentive was announced that our heart was set on Rome & heading to Europe. So thankful for these opportunities Scentsy creates for us! We’ve been able to knock so many places off the bucket list in just 4 short years with this company.

Have you ever considered joining? Did you know there is YET another incentive happening? It just started May 1st! I would love to chat with you!

Paris- Eiffel Tower, Bateaux Promenade boat cruise/tour.

IMG_0539What a fun, but chilly day in Paris! The weather was not what we were expecting and the language & trying to translate what the locals were saying was challenging. Who knew a small town girl would travel at all, let alone to Paris! It’s always been on my bucket list! We went for lunch and met an amazing couple from the UK! We spent lunch chatting to them about their past businesses, her husband being a doctor & them currently retiring.. We shared what we do, They were very fascinated & said they are excited to join us in this business! Everything happens for a reason & fate brings to the right people at the right time, you just have to live with an open mind! We then walked to the Effiel Tower & had some street crepes, took a beautiful boat tour & held hands the entire time. What a great day in Paris it was! I’ll never forget it.

Day 1 & 2, The uk is beautiful, but the weather was cold!

We ventured out yesterday and saw the Big Ben, the London Bridge & the Queens other house, the Buckingham palace. We used the train, the “tube” (as they call it, aka the subway) oh and the big red buses! What an adventure so far! We’ve had caramel peanuts on the road & pizza for £3.00 take away (that means take it & go & that’s the full price) everyone has been very nice and straight to the point. We’ve also noticed that most people from the UK do the bigger jobs here and many nationalities do the everyday jobs. So we’ve met all kinds of people from other countries and they all have one thing in common so far, they are uber impressed with Scentsy! Much easier to explain it here solely for their interest, I guess meeting people (us) from Canada (the other side of the world to them) who are here for fun & to meet team mates seems pretty impressive in itself. We’re headed to meet some team mates in the lobby tonight and I’m honestly so pleased to meet these amazing, hard working ladies who I feel like I already know because of Facebook & Scentsy of course. This business has me wondering where the next 5 years will take us! But for now the next few weeks!

IMG_4269If you told me two years ago that I would be able to TRAVEL the WORLD when I wanted and live my DREAM I would have said you were crazy…

The experiences I have been able to have over the last 2 years were only a DREAM for me less than 3 years ago – I have truly created a life of FREEDOM.

But you see, my life always wasn’t like this… I struggled for many years, from job to job just getting by to being unemployed, I’ve lived on my own since I was 16!!

At the time, I truly BELIEVED that my only option was that life. I thought without an education or a rich family that’s how the story goes.

I spent the last 3 years working too many hours, working on building my dream life, hey all good things need sacrifice right?

As a kid, I always had BIG dreams… People always used to tell me not living in this area, it won’t happen!! I had dreams of traveling the world living life on MY terms.

I had dreams of going to Greece, Mexico, United Kingdom, Hawaii, and so many other places on the other side of the world lol

I had dreams of working from home and being with my husband and kids 24/7. Being able to REALLY enjoy life, instead of working just to live a little…

But I didn’t want to have to wait until my golden years..I wanted to do it ALL now!!

But the years I spent working paycheck to paycheck I saw that dream SLIP AWAY…

I remember being at my job Monday morning wishing that I could have slept in, sipping a cup of coffee just trying to stay awake.

The truth was that I was feeling lost, DEPRESSED, tired, overworked and feeling absolutely no joy in life. I kept asking myself “What is the point of all this?”

My entire life felt like an endless cycle. I would wake up and go to work, then go home, have a couple hours and go to bed… and repeat, and repeat, and repeat…

I was going CRAZY. That day I broke down into tears – I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Something had to CHANGE in my life before I hit rock bottom – I had to make a LIFE-CHANGING decision.

I decided to pick up my laptop and start searching for ways to make money online. Other than surveys, I didn’t find much!

I just knew deep down that there was a better way. A few days later I attended a purse party & figured hey I could do this, I love fashion & people. But only one problem, I was BROKE! Living pay check to pay check then being unemployed doesn’t leave much money in the bank!! Down to my last $30 to my name until EI day!

I asked everyone to lend us money, finally a friend did & I started my first business, lots of parties, events, auctions & hard work for years… Realized although I am working for myself, I am still working super hard! I wanted something where I had help of others and business that allowed me to live around my life instead of hours.

Once I got started with Scentsy, I was welcomed into a group and soon realized that this was REAL. These people were REAL, living the lifestyle that I wanted to live. And I realized that this lifestyle was REAL, and I would soon be living it…

A few months later I sold off my fashion business, a year later Ali quit his job, we wanted to focus solely on our new business & living life on our terms, we have been travelling the world & loving every minute of it.

I now get inspiring messages & emails every single day from people with a dream, making it come true & thanking me. My passion is traveling the world and helping people connect with their deeper purpose and to live their desired lifestyle.

If you’re reading this, I am speaking to YOU…

Your dreams are possible, whatever they are and more importantly, the right group of people are waiting to show you that it is possible to live a better way of life.

I can help you, we can discuss your dreams and goals. I believe in you – sometimes that’s all it takes.

Spicy Shrimp with Creamy Polenta

INGREDIENTS

salt
1 c. polenta or yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. freshly grated Parmesan
1/3 c. freshly grated Asiago
2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes, plus more for garnish
3 green onions, thinly sliced, whites and greens separated
1 pt. grape tomatoes, halved
1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails left on, if desired)
2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves
1/2 c. dry white wine
1/2 c. chicken stock
2 tbsp. heavy cream
DIRECTIONS

In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring salt and 4 cups water to a boil. Add polenta in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly. Continue to whisk 2 minutes more, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, 20 minutes, whisking occasionally. Remove from heat and whisk in butter and cheese, then season with salt.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add garlic, red pepper flakes, and green onion whites and cook, stirring occasionally, until fragrant, 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook until soft, stirring, 4 minutes.
Add shrimp and thyme and cook until shrimp are completely pink, stirring, 4 minutes, then season with salt and pepper. Add wine and chicken stock and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until liquid is reduced by half, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in cream and simmer 2 minutes more.
Serve shrimp over polenta and garnish with remaining green onion greens.

Speedy Tomato Pasta
INGREDIENTS:
1 splash extra virgin olive oil

1 onion, chopped

1 heads garlic, peeled

1 28 oz can of whole tomatoes

1 5 ½ oz can of tomato paste

1 cup red wine

1 Tbsp oregano

1-2 bay leaves

½ tsp salt

1 454 g box of farfalle or any pasta

1 16 oz box of baby spinach

DIRECTIONS
1. Add a splash of olive oil to a large saucepan over medium heat. Toss in the onion and garlic and sauté just to heat through, a minute or two. Pile in the tomatoes, paste, wine, oregano, bay leaves and salt. Bring to a simmer and slowly cook until all the flavours blend and deepen, about 20 minutes.

2. While the sauce is bubbling away, cook the pasta in lots of salty boiling water. Drain.

3. Fold the sauce and the spinach into the cooked pasta, stirring and allowing the heat to wilt the spinach. Serve and share.
